The Picture Competition 2018 and its winners

The Picture Competition from August 15th to October 15th 2018 "The Best Photo in Vision Research and Ophthalmology" in cooperation with Heidelberg Engineering GmbH was a great success and we received many high-quality contributions from all over the world.

This year we received contributions from 17 countries around the world. With 36,4% the United Kingdom were the hardest workers, follwed by France with 10,4% and Germany with 9%. Further contributions come from Australia, Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland and the USA.

We want to thank all participants for their great support and their contributions.

The Winners

Second Place: Monika Müller
Third Place: Hanen Khabou

The winners are

  1. Angelos Rantis, Great Britain (No 1; € 750,-),
  2. Monika Müller, Switzerland (No 2; € 500,-),
  3. Hanen Khabou, France (No 3; € 250,-)

An international review board with members from the private and public sector, clinicians and basic researchers had a tough job to nominate the best pictures. It was very difficult to select those to win the attractive first three prizes.
