Honorary Doctorate conferred on Eberhart Zrenner

The Naresuan University held its annual graduation ceremony presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.  Graced with her presence, there were over 9,000 graduates participating in this ceremony. The university had an auspicious opportunity to confer an Honorary Doctorate in Medicine on Prof. (med) Dr. Eberhart Zrenner, chairman of the European Vision Institute EEIG. Prof. Zrenner has been widely recognized for his lifetime dedication, his outstanding research in ophthalmology and as the founding director of the Institute for Ophthalmic Research at the University of Tuebingen.

The Naresuan University

Named after the Great King Naresuan, Naresuan University was developed from a College of Education in 1967 and later established as the Phitsanulok Campus of Srinakharinwirot University in 1974. The university was officially granted university status on July 29, 1990 and the name "Naresuan University" was graciously given by His Majesty King Bhumibhol Adulyadej. Naresuan University has been emphasizing decentralization of education and equality of study opportunity for people in the lower north part of Thailand and other regional provinces.
