EURETINA Observership Programme

EURETINA is delighted to announce a new grant programme to support European Trainees who wish to observe a clinical practice in a hospital or university setting.

About the Grant

  • Each grant totals €1500 each
  • The duration of the observership is one month to be utilised in 2015
  • 10 grants will be awarded annually
  • Grants will be awarded based on the application documents and in a competitive process
  • Grant applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges comprising EURETINA Board Members

How to Apply

Applications must contain the following information:

  • Letter of intent from applicant
  • Curriculum vitae (one page) including surgical activity, or activity in the field of medical retina.
  • List of publications and teaching activities within the last three years.
  • Letter of support from the present head of department of their institution.

Terms & Conditions

Terms and conditions of the observership programme:

  • Applicants must have finished their residency, must be aged 35 years or younger and must be licensed to practice and currently subspecialise in retina.
  • Applicants must be EURETINA members. To become a member please visit EURETINA membership site.
  • Applicants must be in training in a European country.
  • Observerships must be spent at a European hospital or university setting, selected by and arranged by the candidate.
  • Awardees must be responsible for making their own application to a suitable university or hospital centre.
  • Applications will not be considered until all documents have been received.
  • Successful applicants will be asked to provide a short description of their experience at the end of the observership.

20 January 2015: Deadline for applications for 2015

After 20 January 2015: Formal review of 2015 applications

March 2015: Successful candidates will be announced
