Experimental and Translational Ophthalmology

Our main interests include glaucoma, tear film, neuroprotection, proteomics, and bioinformatics.

As a part of the Dept. of Ophthalmology, we are attempting to close the gap between clinical and basic sciences. We perform both clinical trials and basic science research using state of the art technology for proteomic research using mass spectrometry and micro-array technology. Additionally, results for proteomic research are further complemented by analysis in animal models and cell culture experiments.

Methodology

  • conventional electrophoretic systems and microarray technology, as well as mass spectrometry laboratory, cell culture, animal facility,  immunohistochemistry and microscopy
