Current Research Projects

  • Peptide-based nanoparticles as ocular drug delivery vehicles (PANOPTES).
  • Development of new treatments and ophthalmic formulations for dry eye syndrome.

Methodology

  • HPLC-UV, HPLC-MS, GPC, DSC, rheology, osmolarity, surface tension and scanning electron microscopy.
  • Intraocular pressure, tolerance.
  • In vitro studies in culture cells (cornea, conjunctiva and macrophage cells)
  • In vivo studies in rabbits and rats.
