Department of Ophthalmology

The research department of ophthalmology presents a typical translational structure consisting of a group of fundamental researchers (3.5 FTE), harvested in a research unit and working in close collaboration with the department of ophthalmology.  The research topics are clearly clinically oriented.

Methodology

Depending on the research topic the research coworkers will be a physicist, a biomedical scientist, a statistician or a fundamental researcher familiar with the laboratory work.

Scientific Cooperations

  • Cooperation 1
Collaboration with the industry based on patent licensing,
Collaboration with ophthalmic centers all over the world
  • Cooperation 2
Collaboration with the United Kingdom, the Netherlands (currently) and with Israël and France hopefully in the near future
  • Cooperation 3
Through EVICR.net collaboration of 15 centers
