Torben Lykke Sørensen

Torben Lykke Sørensen serves as a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, who received his M.D. degree from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1999 and his D.M.S. degree in 2004 on a thesis describing chemokines and chemokine receptors in optic neuritis and multiple sclerosis.

Presently, he holds joint appointments as a Chief Physician, as a Clinical Associate Research Professor at the University of Copenhagen, and as the Head of the Research Unit at the Department of Ophthalmology, Copenhagen University Hospital Roskilde, Denmark.

Current research is mainly focused on the immunology and clinical aspects of age-related macular degeneration as well as other retinal and immunological eye diseases.
