NIH launches multi-million-dollar epigenomics programme

Research infrastructures database launched

The EC has launched the ‘European Portal on Research Infrastructures’, which is an online database. It is hoped that it will assist the EC and Member States in gaining a better overview and understanding of the current landscape for research infrastructures in Europe. It is further hoped that this information will assist with the future planning for the requirements of the research communities in Europe.

Mutation in retinitis pigmentosa

Shomi Bhattacharya and colleagues report the identification of six independent mutations in EYS, encoding an ortholog of Drosophila spacemaker, in families with autosomal recessive retinitis pigmentosa. EYS is expressed in photoreceptor cells and likely has a role in the modeling of retinal architecture.
