Neuroregeneration

The group is working on the injured optic nerve characterizing traumatic neuropathy and trying to restore optic nerve function using regeneration approaches. It utilizes methods of neuroanatomy, microsurgery, proteomics and molecular biology. The major outcome of the experiments is successful regeneration of the visual pathway.

Methodology

  • In vivo microsurgery and neuroanatomical tracing methods
  • nerve grafting
  • propagation of neural progenitor cells
  • Genomics
  • proteomics
  • cell cultures
