Ayse Sahaboglu

Current Research Projects

My research focuses on the molecular mechanism of photoreceptor degeneration with the goal of identifying new markers and therapeutic targets. I am involved in the preclinical developments of drugs for inherited photoreceptor degeneration (www.drugsford.eu).

I am also interested in the role of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) and poly (ADP-ribose) glycohydrolase (PARG) in retinal degeneration.

Methodology

  • In vivo injection methods (intravitreal, intraperitoneal, intravenous, subcutaneous)
  • Organotypic retinal culture
  • Western blot
  • Immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry
  • in situ biochemical assays
