Molecular ophthalmogenetics

Our aim is to elucidate the molecular etiology and pathobiology of complex retinal disorders such as age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma.

Using (human) genetics, microarray technology and functional methodologies, we aim to elucidate the molecular machinery of the retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) and retinal ganglion cells during development, aging and (genetic) disease.
