MOKALAB

To understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms of retinal development and regeneration. Develop strategies for cell reprogramming, neuroprotection, neural remodeling, cell repair and cell replacement therapies by regeneration and transplantation.

Methodology

  • Confocal and 2-photon-microscopy
  • Patch-clamp, cell and organotypic cultures
  • Cell transplantation
  • Cell & molecular biology techniques

Current Research Projects

  • Project 1
    Retinal progenitor physiology
  • Project 2
    Stimulation of Müller glia proliferation
  • Project 3
    Roadblocks of retinal regeneration
  • Project 4
    Development of cell replacement strategies
