Retinal Repair and Regeneration Research Group

We investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms that promote differentiation of human Müller  stem cells into different types of retinal neurons.  We also examine methods that may be potentially used for functional transplantation of these cells into degenerated retina.

Methodology

We use various molecular biology approaches as well as in vivo cell transplantation into the retina of animal models of retinal degeneration. We assess retinal function using electrophysiological techniques.
