Research Group of Aki Kawasaki

Clinical and research pupillometry for human subjects

Methodology

Colordrome ganzfeld light stimulator is linked to a pupil tracking device which allows binocular realtime recording of pupil movement to a variety of controlled light stimuli.

Scientific Cooperations

  • Cooperation 1
University of Iowa, Iowa City USA
  • Cooperation 2
Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale of Lausanne, Switzerland
  • Cooperation 3
    INSERM, Montpellier France

Current Research Projects

  • Project 1
Characterization of the pupil response to colored light stimuli in patients with outer and inner retinal disorders
  • Project 2
Comparison of non-visual, light-dependent functions in healthy subjects and patients with retinal ganglion cell loss
  • Project 3
Structural and functional relationship of the iris in normal eyes and sympathetically-denervated eyes
  • Project 4
Extra-Pupillary Transmission of Light Plays a Role in Modulating Light Sensitivity and Pupil Size
