The Human Brain Project is one of two Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) Flagships selected under FP7. The goal of the initiative is to understand the human brain and its diseases, and ultimately to emulate its computational capabilities. While FP7 provides the Flagships with funding for the ramp-up phase, continued funding to existing Flagships is envisaged under Horizon 2020.
