Iceland and Norway sign up to join Horizon 2020

Iceland and Norway on Friday became the first non-EU countries to associate to Horizon 2020, the seven-year EU research and innovation programme launched in January.

The decision, taken at a meeting of the European Economic Area (EEA) Joint Committee, takes effect from the beginning of Horizon 2020 allowing these two countries' researchers and companies to participate on the same basis as their counterparts in the EU.
