Congratulations to the winners of the 2020 IoO Awards

We celebrate research, collegiality and teaching at the Institute of Ophthalmology

Following a fascinating annual award lecture given by Prof Justine Smith from Flinders University, Institute Director Prof Andrew Dick and Prof Alison Hardcastle announced the winners of this year's IoO awards.

We received many nominations to recognise and celebrate academic, teaching and collegiality activities from staff and students who have made significant contributions to the Institute in the last year.

The award categories are: research excellence, teaching, and collegiality.

Also, in collaboration with Moorfields BRC, this year we launched the Public and Patient Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) award to recognise excellent PPIE in research.

Research Excellence award

    For her article: "Predicting conversion to wet age-related macular degeneration using deep learning", published in Nature Medicine
