Revision of EC directives in health

A number of European directives in the area of health with relevance for research and innovation are currently under revision.

These include the Clinical Trials Directive, the Medical Devices Directive and the Tobacco Directive. The Clinical Trials Directive contains the requirements for the conduct of clinical trials in the EU and its revision was initiated in 2008. It is expected to be adopted by the end of 2012.
