Report shows long term impact of Framework Programme

A report entitled ‘Understanding the Long Term Impact of the Framework Programme’ has been published.

Drafted by the European Policy Evaluation Consortium (EPEC) as part of a contract with the EC, the study is intended as an initial exploration of the long-term impacts of the Framework Programme since it began in 1984 in order to close a perceived ‘technology gap’ between the EU and other countries, such as the US and Japan. The study uses scientometric techniques coupled with a case-based approach to impact. The methods used for the report include literature reviews, co-word analysis of project titles and abstracts, bibliometric analysis, and interviews with the Commission and participants.
