Ophthalmic Pharmacology

This is an interdisciplinary research group. A focus is directed towards the development of non-invasive technology in ophthalmology, particularly OCT (Center of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering).

At the Department of Clinical Pharmacology an animal unit as well as a clinical unit is available to also translate these technologies into clinics. At the Department of Clinical Pharmacology we have a long-standing experience in performing clinical trials (more than 200) with a specific focus on phase 1 trials.

Interest is also directed towards studies to understand the pathophysiology of disease such as glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and dry eye syndrome.
