The German Research Foundation has approved a Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) at the University of Cologne

The new CRC 1607 ‘Immunomodulating and anti(lymph)angiogenic therapies for age-related eye diseases that can lead to blindness’ will receive funding from the German Research Foundation for the next three years and nine months.

Professor Dr Claus Cursiefen, recently elected Vice-Rector for Research at the University of Cologne and Chairman of the Department of Opthalmology at the University Hospital Cologne, explains that the new CRC investigates how eye diseases that occur in old age develop and looks for novel treatments for these diseases.
