The Research Group is focussed on the mechanisms of retinal ganglion cell death in glaucoma and developing new treatments for the condition.
Glaucoma remains a leading cause of blindness worldwide and therefore new treatments that can slow visual loss and eventually restore vision are an important goal.
A variety of approaches are used including stem cell transplantation, gene therapy and high resolution in vivo retinal imaging.
