The Ageing Eye Conference 2009
The major blinding eye diseases in all populations of European origin including the US and Australia are age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and glaucoma. These disorders typically affect the elderly. Their prevalence will further increase dramatically as the populations age. However, the knowledge of these ageing eye diseases is very limited in the European societies, their socioeconomic impact is underestimated and their pathogenesis poorly understood. Research into their prevention and treatment within Europe continues to suffer from fragmentation.
The Ageing Eye Conference will address these questions and bring together key scientists from basic and applied research that will contribute to foster a multidisciplinary discussion, to promote our understanding and to stimulate further research into ageing eye diseases.
The Ageing Eye Conference will take place at the Kunstmuseum Bonn, Germany from 20 - 21 March 2009. Please have a look at the program of the meeting. If you are interested in attending the meeting, please fill out the provided registration form and send it to any of the given addresses.
