The European Commission has published on the 20th July 2011 its final work programme with the list of topics for the submission of research & innovation proposals, which are expected to be funded under the FP7 2012 Health calls for proposals.
The call is managed by the Research and Innovation DG – Directorate Health.
The characteristic features of this call are: broader topics; two-stage submission-evaluation; greater emphasis on innovation, especially through SME-targeted topics; and emphasis on flexibility for the applicants in defining the optimum consortium partnership, project duration & budget. In the Work Programme 2012, the area of System Medicine will focus on multidisciplinary research that will integrate a wide variety of biological, medical and clinical data to understand and model complex human diseases.
A major goal of this call is to stimulate system biology approaches for medical and clinical application and therefore to establish the basis for system medicine. For the topics in the area of systems medicine, the deadline for submission of the stage-1 short proposals is on 4th October at 17:00 (Brussels local time).
