European Vision Institute. Clinical Trials. Sites of Excellence is a network of European Ophthalmological Clinical Research Sites, dedicated to perform clinical research in ophthalmology with the highest standards of quality, following the European and International Directives for Clinical Trial Research.
The Clinical Trial Site of the European Vision Institute (EVI.CT.SE) has presently 48 member institutions (from 14 European countries) in the process of certification and another 20 candidate centre’s.

EC pilots new scheme for open access to research articles
The EC will fund over €50 billion of research during FP7. Therefore, it is extremely keen to see that these research results are disseminated as widely and effectively as possible to guarantee maximum exploitation and impact with researchers and beyond.
New IPR strategy for Europe
The EC recently adopted a Communication on a new industrial property rights (IPR) strategy for Europe. This Communication outlines a number of actions as the keystone to maintain a high quality industrial property rights system for the EU in the 21st century. It aims to support inventors in making informed choices on the protection of their industrial property rights and calls for robust enforcement against counterfeiting and piracy.
