CILAC 2016: the first ever Latin American and Caribbean Open Science Forum

The ESOF word is spreading. After Africa with the Science Forum South Africa in December 2015 and the Next Einstein Forum in Senegal in March 2016, the science community in Latin America and the Caribbean is strengthening itself and reaching out to the whole continent.

Under the strong impetus from the regional UNESCO office in Montevideo, whose director, prof. Lidia Brito, has been a regular participant and panelist at ESOF conferences, the first Latin American and the Caribbean Open Science Forum is going to be held in Montevideo, Uruguay from 6th to 9th September 2016. It will be about: “Transforming our region: sciences, technology and innovation for sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean”.
