Scientifc Interest

  • Synaptic transmission in the retina. Participation of different neurotransmitter systems (glutamate, gamma-aminobutyric acid - GABA, glycine etc.) in the intensity and colour coding and the contrast sensitivity of the retina.
  • Electrical activity of the distal and proximal retina of lower vertebrates.
  • Immunocytochemical study of the neurotransmitters and their receptors in the retina.
