Current Research Projects

Currently, my research concerns mechanisms of photoreceptor cell death during retinal degeneration. My studies are focused in different factors that can  alter gene regulation, and may lead to an enhance of cell death or survival in the photoreceptor cell layer of our animal models of retinal degeneration.

Methodology

  • Organotypic retinal explant culture
  • in vivo application, immunofluorescence and - blot
  • in situ biochemical assays
