Current Research Projects
- Project 1: Characterization of Pericentrin in the retina
In this project I analyze the different splice variants of Pericentrin in the retina in vitro and in vivo. I am interested in the distribution and function of the Pcnt splice variants and their interaction partners at primary cilia and in photoreceptor cells. - Project 2: Characterization of Complexins in the retina
In this project I examine the cellular, synaptic and developmental expression of all four Cplx isoforms in the mouse retina.
Methodology
- high resolution light and electron microscopy combined with immunocytochemistry
- laser-microdissection
- quantitative PCR
- in situ hybridization
- cell culture
- western blotting
- antibody characterization
- recombinant protein expression
