Young Researcher's Vision(-ary) Camp at Castle Wildenstein
Dear fellow investigators,
We are very pleased to invite you to the "Young Researcher Vision(ary) Camp" to be held from June 25th until June 27th, 2010 at Castle Wildenstein, high atop the Danube river valley in South-Western Germany!
The aim of this "Camp" is to give young researchers (MSc and PhD students, and early postdocs) an opportunity to present themselves and their work to fellow researchers, to allow them to build and strengthen personal networks in an international environment. It is intend to give as many young researchers as possible an opportunity to present their research results. Since this group of people is usually not very affluent, there is only a small registration fee of 50,-- Euro for this event (including food and accommodation). Participants will have to organize their travels to and from the workshop themselves.
The workshop is organized by the European project EuroVisionNet to promote Vision Research within Europe and supported by the European Vision Institute.
Apart from presentations, there will be an afternoon of round table discussions with a number of senior scientists from different European countries. Topics such as "Careers in Research: Academia vs. Industry", "personal motivation", "family and research", "additional skills", etc. will be discussed, each with experts in the respective field. We hope that these discussions will enable young scientists to benefit from the wealth of experience senior researchers have acquired during their careers.
The deadline for registration was March 31st, 2010.
Investigators - both young and not so young anymore - who do not wish to present but would still like to attend the workshop should also register that we may plan accordingly. Workshop language will be English.
